LORD LITTER’S RADIO ON SHOW # 9 ( Hallucinating Berlin )

A rather awkward show by LL this time, not because there is something wrong with the music, far from that, but it seems…well, it starts of with visitors from The Netherlands, and Germany had some funny Dutch visitors in the past from Jopie Heesters and Rudi Carrell to Silvie VanderVaart, and they all spoke this weird kind of German that was full of wind; it sounded a bit like they just realised they had put on somebody else’s dirty underwear. So this Trespasser guy starts talking about Marlène and Leni…

Lord Litter’s Radio On Show, episode 8 ( – Refugees – )

Here, this new LL show defines a moment in time. Watch your headlines. Take some scissors, cut them out and put them in a box. Seal the box and open it in twenty years. You might be looking at a moment in history.   Word to LL. > Statement ………This show is especially inspired by / dedicated to Charles Chaplin (brought back to my attention by *Z*), Mr. Spock, who had a very strong influence on me since I was a child, the musicians sending their music to me not…

Don Campau – No Pigeonholes, Special on Sound of Pig label part 2

Quote 1 The preeminent cassette label of the heyday of cassette culture was Sound Of Pig run by Al Margolis in New York. His label distributed hundreds of tapes in many styles with an emphasis on experimental and unusual sounds. Quote 2 With over 200 titles offered through the Sound of Pig Cassette Mail Order Catalogue, Al Margolis has certainly earned his title as “Cassette Godfather” Quote 3 “Cassettes, cassettes, cassettes — What do they mean? These days, everything! Who would have thought when I started getting involved with them…

Rescue Radio On by Rinus van Alebeek

This show was recorded on a stormy day when cosmic interferences disrupted the regular Radio On program. Rinus climbed up to the roof, adjusted the antenna and went on to rescue our radio. Rescue Radio On features sounds by Tzii and his sci-fi Monolith tape, some Larry Mondello Band strangeness, songs by the Greek band Fyta, but above all a long collage of commercial, found and chanced upon recordings on tape. A selection of these can be heard here Rescue Radio On broadcasts all through January on Sunday 19:00-20:00, Monday…

Höllentag Spezial by Jeff Surak

Höllentag Spezial was made with one record player, one recorder and a lot of records. Jeff played locked grooves. If the needle is caught in a locked groove it plays only the piece of music or sound that can be captured in a full spin. The result is a series of repetitions, that can be experienced as mechanic or trance-inducing or simply musical. Especially for its repetitious form, the mechanical element prevails, and links the piece, thus, to the pre-war experiments when modern composers tried to reproduce the sounds of…

Killed by Christmas – Logbook #6

The street cleaners will do their job, don’t be afraid. Christmas trees will burn. Some of the presents will even appear to be useful; you will survive the hang-over. Also the calendar will adjust itself in the next couple of days. There are still some remains of our Killed by Christmas show wandering through our daily schedule. We will take care of it. When you chance upon them visions of a children’s crusade lead by a mad man carrying a cross might haunt you. It’s okay, it’s just a hallucianation….
