Joana Moll – The Virtual Watchers

Joana Moll‘s work on surveillance systems, The Virtual Watchers, is a 21st century testimony of a practice that must be as old as humanity itself: spying on others and reporting them to the authorities.

Internet has made it possible to put up camera’s and watch any place in the world from your sofa.

Joana Moll discovered a crowd-funding funded system where every one was welcome to watch the US-Mexican border and report any attempt to illegal crossing to the authorities.

Joana talks about her experiences as a watcher and as a member of the Fb-group of virtual watchers.
