Radio On Lost, a radioplay by Adrian Shephard and Rinus Van Alebeek

From the depths of the Radio On Archive comes a radio show by Shephard and Van Alebeek that probably never reached any listener at all. What starts as an outburst of total confusion evolves into a radioplay, in which Shephard and Van Alebeek become radionauts lost in space. Their only salvation is to follow the radiowaves. They go down in a cosmic storm of voices, end up in distant civilisations, transform into radio particles, pick up conversations, but they never seem to find ground. Comes with a haunting sound track….

The Secrets of Alice Berg -FranceCulture by Adrian Shephard and Rinus Van Alebeek

Back in the year 2009 the Neukölln area of Berlin was still a dirty neighbourhood. Hardly anyone wanted to live there. Apartments were cheap; the bars were the same as ever, for the locals, the typical eckkneipe. This zone of Berlin was not hip at all, and the word hipster, the attitude and fashion style had still to be discovered and introduced. Basement concerts had a strong sense of prohibition. Adrian Shephard and I (=Rinus Van Alebeek) had been doing radio since the year 2006. We had no connection to…

New- Tuesday 18. February and other days. Au Pays Des Merveilles by William Nurdin

William Nurdin has brought us A Propos de Minos, which after a series of typos by yours truly (Milos, Miros, Mipos, Mikos, Mitos) and a reconsideration by William has changed concept and will now be called Au Pays De Merveilles. Based on an encounter with J. Szubarga and P.Sub in Cornimont (88. department) Au Pays Des Merveilles episode 2 is an intriguing play that combines radiophonics and fiction. Transmission is mostly at 23:00-24:00 Berlin time. Hear it on Tuesday 18. February and check the schedule for further broadcasts.

New! Anne F. Jacques – Sounds for Post Peak Oil, episode 4

Canadian sound explorer Anne F. Jacques has finished her European séjour and is now back in Montréal where the snow sounds crisp and clear. Before she returned to her hometown, she went up to the French-Swiss border to record drifting particles. Sounds for Post Peak Oil -4 is part of an ongoing series of abstract RadioPlays that Anne produces exclusively for Radio On. In her own words “Cows eating grass near the Centre d’Européen de Recherche Nucléaire at the french-swiss border; kicking a rock on a roof; various electrical hums,…

The First Day of theYear-The First Person on the Street

On the first day of the year Radio On brings a deep insight in history and anthropology of Zombie-culture. Andy Gray, one of our guests, who, himself, has zombies growing in his back-yard, explains the backgrounds of zombie culture. One of the most important problems our guests are confronted with is what they would do if they were in their car in front of the Aldi, surrounded by zombies. At the beginning of every four hour segment, yes this program comes to you in a four hour loop, Andy reads…
