The Wirebender Presents On the Mix

The new program by The Wirebender offers a live section and a couple of songs from a found tape. Apparently found tapes are the best way to the secrets and treasures of the history of the last fourty years of off- shore musics and sounds.

In The Wirebender’s own words:

Ground live at Club Integral

Charles Bullen’s new project; Charles formed the duo Dolphin Logic with Charles Hayward, who later became the hugely-influential art-punk band This Heat. After the band split in 1982 Bullen made an album under the name The Lifetones, and then went on to record as Circadian Rhythms.

He is joined by his new band – Mike Samuels on bass, Dean Broderick on keyboards and Tom Murrow on drums, all great players in their own right. This was Charles’ first live outing in many years offering a rare chance to see a genuine legend of the British underground music scene.

23 Skidoo

The origins of 23 Skidoo lie in a punk-inspired schoolboy trio formed in North London in 1978. By 1980 the group had expanded into a quartet, with Fritz Catlin on drums, Sam Mills on guitar and vocals, Johnny Turnbull on guitar and Patrick Griffiths on bass. Their chosen name, 23 Skidoo, was appropriated from the experimental literature of William S. Burroughs.

23-panny

Formed in London, England, 1979; released “The Gospel Comes To New Guinea,” the group’s second single recorded at Cabaret Voltaire’s Western Works studio and co-produced by Throbbing Gristle’s Genesis P-Orridge, released debut album Seven Songs, 1981.
