Radio On Stockhausen

Here’s a show from our archive, when Radio On was a two men venture based in an ex-DDR lightbulb factory. This show was first transmitted into inner and outer space via a secret connection to a server in the heart of Amsterdam. Radio On was a pirate station. Also in those days we hardly had any listeners. If you belong to the rest of mankind you can safely stay there. You can also listen to this show. Stockhausen, Sirius, Ufo’s, space, catholics, maharishi’s, the early days of the internet, masturbation…

The Tape Review Show – Knife in the Toaster, Falt, Plaza Zachodnia

A special show, this one. Adrian welcomes visitors from the Moors, a sinister place somewhere in England, where hounds howl and people disappear in the fog to never come back again. A land of opened graves and haunted houses, a place to grow up and have a happy childhood. Those stories make up one part of the show. But there is also Bus 100 in Berlin, the Brandenburger Tor rebuilt by an army of legoman. We mention the war, Germania, have etymological discussions and play and discuss some tapes that…

The Tape Review Show – Research Laboratories

Listener beware. You will be hypnotised. It will happen at a certain point in Adrian’s story about his projectors. Frog cops, moustaches, world war 1 battle ships, a passing angel. That’s the point where you need to take care. Listen in full and you will travel to the past. It happened to us. The radio studio became a space ship with Adrian as the pilot and me (= Rinus) as the navigator. Agatha Christie came to visit us. We heard stories about Elvis. We bumped and leaped though different layers…

Radio On Neanderthal Love

This was supposed to be a Tape Review Show, and actually one or two tapes were played, but the show turned into a giant rant, mainly by Rinus against self-righteous behaviour on social media. So we hear stories about Romenian refugees, found tapes, Freddy and Elton, Dune, mules, neanderthal love, phobians, Bauhaus and the quest for fire.   Tapes played were released by Tanzprocesz, Falt Records and Plaza Zachodnia   You want to submit your works or tapes/CDs/Vinyls released by you or your label? June Crawford interview and live sets

June Crawford makes radio shows for Radio On. With regular intervals he sends his audio reports from his home base Montreal. In the last days of the Summer of 2018 he was on a visit to Berlin. He worked on his opera ‘Gun’ in an artist residency. Adrian Shephard, joined by Rinus Van Alebeek, received June in the Radio On studio. June brought some little sound makers and uses Adrian’s old electric guitar for some short sonic interventions. A lot of time was spent on talking. It starts with a…

Radio On Beuys

On the dustiest shelf of the Radio On archives there are even recordings from shows that probably no-one heard. They are from the pre-history of our radio when Shephard and Van Alebeek first met somewhere in the hinterlands of East Berlin. Back then they still played music, but luckily after hardly one minute the tracks get interrupted by their stream of unconscious talking. Musicologist discussions, ponderings on heroin and an old evergreen determine the first half of the show. At the center there is a long series of questions about…
